         U2乐队的辉煌为他们自己打造了一个时代，毫无疑问，U2是80年代英国最受欢迎的摇滚乐团。

         起源于爱尔兰的U2组合从1977年就开始了他们的音乐生涯，当时乐团主要成员还都在都柏林上中学。乐队由四人组成，Bono (即Paul David Hewson，1960年5月10日出生于都柏林，乐手), The Edge (即David Evans，1961年出生于埃塞克斯，吉他手), Adam Clayton (1960年3月13日出生于英格兰牛津郡，男低音)以及Larry Mullen Jr(即Laurence Mullen，1961年是10月31日出生于都柏林，鼓手)，他们最终在1978年确定乐队名称为U2。
