如果说美国流行音乐榜就是衡量欧美流行乐的标准的话，那么Savage Garden是非常成功的一支乐队。从以他们乐队的名字命名的专辑一问世，就预示着这将是一张有特殊韵味的、富有强烈感染力的、旋律优美的专辑。然而在一开始情况并不是那么好的。“I Want You”这首生气勃勃的洋溢着八十年代欧洲流行乐味道的歌曲，在澳洲排名很高，但是却久久不能进入美国榜的前五名，紧接着“To The Moon And Back”在当地排名第一，却始终停留在美国榜的三十名以外，Darren和Daniel形容这种现象为“愚蠢的数字游戏”。同样的游戏又发生在“Truly，Madly Deeply”上，那些唱片经销商们为了提高其他唱片在市场上的销量，就故意减缓这首歌曲的进货，这样“Truly，Madly Deeply”的统计数字下来了，而美国排行榜正是以销量统计数字为基础的，所以它在美国榜上的霸主地位也被破坏了。Darren说：“但我们请求唱片公司给我们一个机会出版新专辑，如果我们有机会就会一切顺利的。”Daniel笑着说：“因为我们知道我们有制胜的秘密武器。”他们就是这样争取到了出唱片的机会然后一跑打红的。经过了真正的风霜雪雨后，Savage Garden成为了十年来第一个在美国榜排名第一的澳大利亚乐队。当然这使他们非常的富有。
