《The end of the world》（世界末日），原唱是美国著名的女乡村音乐歌手史琪特·戴维丝（Skeeter Davis），（1931年12月30日——2004年9月19日），原名玛丽·弗朗西丝·佩尼克Mary Frances Penick）。这首歌是她1963年演唱的，被评为当年最受欢迎的歌曲，曾经被无数人翻唱过，但是没有人能超载她原唱的魅力，这首歌也是史琪特·戴维丝唯一的传世之作。
《the end of the world》也是2009年的电影《美国情事》（An Amercian affair）的片尾曲。也是电影《独行月球》插曲
