 1965年，披头士乐队在著名的《挪威木屋》/《挪威的森林》（Norwegian wood）中，把古老的印度乐器西塔琴运用到摇滚乐。

   披头士的「挪威的森林」，歌词的内容是叙述一名男孩，原以为在街上很顺利把到一名女孩，最后却被对方甩了的悲伤故事。原本男孩高高兴兴地要去女孩家，参观像挪威森林一样的女孩房间，结果隔了一个晚上，醒来一看，房间里早已是空无一物，不见伊人芳踪。“那房间就像是挪威的森林一般，冷冷清清的。仔细回想，昨夜让自己如此心动不已的究竟是什麼？会不会充其量只是自己喝醉了酒所做的一场梦而已？那位令人魂牵梦萦的女孩，是不是就像都会中微弱的萤火，转瞬间就立刻消失得无影无踪？”这段话的出处是原载於1987年11月《群像杂志》，被收录在村上春树评论集《村上春树》，小学馆出版（1997, May 20）。

    传说，挪威的森林是一片大得会让人迷路的森林。那种，人进得去却出不来的巨大原始森林。风靡60年代的甲壳虫乐队唱出了名闻世界的曲子Norwegian Wood。1987年村上春树又以《挪威的森林》为书名写了一本青春恋爱小说。

   “海潮的清香，遥远的汽笛，女孩肌体的感触，洗发香波的气味，傍晚的和风，缥缈的憧憬，以及夏日的梦境......”这些组成了村上春树的世界。那是一种微妙的，无以名之的感受，贴己而朦胧，撩人又莫名。让我们一起，相逢百分百的村上春树。
