水仙女鲁沙尔在人间与心爱的王子失之交臂，无限眷恋地返回水中。没有悲痛欲绝的生离死别，却是一种深切绵远的感怀。在静静的月夜，鲁沙尔独自唱起这首咏叹调《月亮颂》恳求月亮，急切的求她帮助找到心爱的王子。这一曲《月亮颂》唱得如怨如诉，尤其是“月亮，留下吧”一句，哀怨的眼神，仿佛是湖边等着她的王子的水仙女对着月亮抒发对爱人的思念，将这段人、神间的爱情悲剧演绎得异常凄美..
