电影《美丽的星期天》的主题曲
歌曲背景：
福斯特（1826-1864），美国著名作曲家，生于宾夕法尼亚的匹兹堡。
生平一共创作了200多首歌曲，其中很多都是广为流传的著名歌曲。
包括脍炙人口的《噢！苏珊娜》、《故乡的亲人》、《我的肯塔基故乡》
还有为他心爱的妻子写的动人歌曲《金发的珍妮姑娘》等等。
而传世名曲《老黑奴》，更成为美国南北战争期间黑奴的精神支柱。
《Beautiful dreamer 美丽的梦神》，大约创作于1862年间。
当时佛斯特其在纽约，经济拮据，生活困顿，
在乏人照料之下，日夜思念妻子珍妮，因而写出如此动人的歌曲。
因而这首歌的风格比另一首写给珍妮的歌《金发的珍妮》更为感伤。
《美丽的梦神》不论是歌词或旋律，都是其他思念亲友的歌曲所无法比拟的。
这首曲子也是佛斯特创作的民谣歌曲中少有的三拍子歌曲。
